Hello K2,
Thank you for writing to Windows Live Hotmail Technical Support. My name is Joseph and I understand that you cannot access the Windows Live Hotmail website. I realize the importance of your concern and the need for it to be addressed right away.

In reviewing the inquiry you submitted, I have noted that there was no alternate e-mail address indicated for our correspondence. In view of this, I have sent the appropriate response to this Windows Live Hotmail account.

K2, I apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you. Incorrect browser settings and Internet filtering browser functions interfering with the operation of Hotmail may cause the issue. Every time that you log in to the Internet, cookies are stored in your computer’s temporary Internet files or cache. Sometimes, instead of accessing the website directly from the server, your browser detects the website content from the cache. This will cause you to have difficulty in viewing some pages. Clearing your temporary Internet files and deleting your cookies usually resolves your issue.

I have provided a link below for optimization steps that will resolve browser related concerns. This involves clearing your browser’s temporary Internet files to clean up unnecessary clutter in your hard disk and improve browser performance.

To learn how to optimize your browser’s settings in Internet Explorer, please visit:!5D6F5A79A79B6708!234.entry

If you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer, please visit your browser’s Help section for steps on how to optimize your browser’s performance.

If you still encounter the same issue after optimizing your browser’s settings, please reply to this email with answers to these questions:

1. Do you encounter any error messages? If so, please provide us the exact error message.
2. Do you encounter the same issue when you are using another computer?

We appreciate your continued support as we strive to provide you with the highest quality service available. Thank you for using Windows Live Hotmail.

I credit them for emailing me but this answer is simply so lame. I know of a half dozen users that all complained about not being able to log onto Hotmail/Live/Sympatico mail services and it could NOT be my browser settings. Esp. since I tried logging on from 5 other computers during the time of the outage.

Why not come clean and say…it’s down and we are trying to resolve this ASAP?
