Hotmail was slow/down/unavailable

Hotmail was down for at least 18 hours starting sometime Wednesday morning. It was slow to render the main page and would not load. So your intrepid Consultant wrote Hotmail “support”:

So, though the service I have with Hotmail is free, and I have sent service requests before and NEVER got an answer I DID get one.

K2, I apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you. Incorrect browser settings and Internet filtering browser functions interfering with the operation of Hotmail may cause the issue. Every time that you log in to the Internet, cookies are stored in your computer’s temporary Internet files or cache. Sometimes, instead of accessing the website directly from the server, your browser detects the website content from the cache. This will cause you to have difficulty in viewing some pages. I credit them for emailing me but this answer is simply so lame. I know of a half dozen users that all complained about not being able to log onto Hotmail/Live/Sympatico mail services and it could NOT be my browser settings. Esp. since I tried logging on from 5 other computers during the time of the outage.

Why not come clean and say…it’s down and we are trying to resolve this ASAP?
